I knew I was saving those scraps for a reason...
Made from leftovers of a skirt (the polka dot fabric), a pillowcase (the red pleated trim) and some embroidery floss from who knows when :)
Since I was trying not to buy anything for this, I picked out the stitching from part of the pleated trim and ironed my little heart out to make the waistband.
I used this wonderful free pattern.
And I upped the size a little bit, because well, I weighed 8 pounds... and my husband weighed nearly 10.
(I had to edit this when I showed hubby. I had put that he weighed nine pounds, but he proudly corrected me he came in at almost ten. Scary...)
To be tucked away for my someday...

Thanks for sharing. It's a darling pattern.
Lauren, it's adorable!
Absolutely darling!
So sweet! I love your colour combination too. :)
Lauren,
How adorable, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it. Your Mama must love be proud.

Aww, Lauren, that is a lovely baby dress! I'm glad you put that it was getting tucked away, or you were about to get a phone call from a very curious friend! :) But it is a super sweet little dress!
Oh that is so sweet! You did such a wonderful job! I just finished making some dresses for my daughter as well, I'll have to post some pictures of them on my blog and show you! I was so happy to be able to do this for Miss H. (my daughter) because I have "5" sisters and there were no heirlooms to pass down (after five babies wore the hand me downs). So any way, I was so happy to be able to make my daughter some very special things to be passed down to her future daughter(s)!
You do such pretty work!
Such a sweet, pretty little dress!!
Adorable! I just love those polka-dots, and they're perfect for a baby dress.
Love in Christ,
Shannon
How sweet :-)
Oh it's darling!! Hehe, don't be to worried...my mama managed just fine with my sister who was 10.11!!
Very cute dress! I love polka dots!
Hmm, seems like my comment was eaten. Anyway, it's an adorable dress, and I love the baby blue and red combo. The pattern is super-cute -- I might have to make one myself! :-)
This is adorable Lauren! So sweet.
You have such great ideas!!! The dress is so cute! :)
That is so sweet! Thanks for the link to the pattern, I'm thinking I'll be using it for my little girly!

I am Mrs. Carson and I found your blog shortly before Christmas. I've been married about as long as you have and also wish for a baby. But the Lord hasn't seen fit to give us one yet. We pass a year next week. You're a few weeks away from the mark. We aren't sure what to think, feel, or do, since the doctors say if a young couple hasn't conceived in a year, to go in. I've been reading your blog going back almost to the start and just want to let you know your blog means a lot to me right now.
