Getting Ready for Baby

As I get bigger and bigger...

We are getting everything ready for baby! Less than a month to go, Lord willing.
She now has a crib to sleep in for when she is a bit older... (this was my crib when I was a baby!)

And a co-sleeper that converts to a bassinet to sleep in mommy and daddy's bedroom for now.

Look at those pretty pink walls that daddy painted!

Decorations for her room- this one painted by mommy...

This one from a dear friend :)

Lots of toys to keep baby entertained.

A baby bouncer to keep baby busy while mommy cooks dinner...

And lots of burp cloths, some made by mommy, some made by friends, some store bought :)

Pretty, feminine clothes to wear...

Baby blankets for snuggling!

Needless to say, I'm getting really excited! The Lord has really provided for us and baby during this pregnancy and while getting ready for her arrival- we are so thankful.

Oh you look so adorable. I praise the Lord all is going well. I can't believe it's only a month. Maybe she will share Emma's birthday, June 28th. : ) All your baby stuff is so cute.

You look so cute!! I wish I looked that refreshed at the end of my pregnancies, lol! Everything is just lovely- that little smocked dress is just the cutest! Oh, and my sister in law is having a girl too! She isn't due until early October though.

A friend of mine thought they were having a girl, and now their son is almost a month old. :) We're having a girl too, but have many months to go.

Share her name?

You are just so. . .beautiful/cute/adorable, etc. so very expectant and motherly!

I love how you have decorated your little girls room. That shade of pink is just sweet and everything coordinates so well. The little dresses are so precious.

I can't believe you have only a few short weeks left! How quickly this pregnancy has gone (for me at least, observant in blog-land!) :) I can't wait to "meet" your darling daughter when she makes her debut!

Hi Lauren! Many blessings to you and your husband! I'm sure you are so excited over the upcoming birth of your little sweetie!

I saw some things about your crib that I really had to comment on because as a first time mother, I just don't know if you are aware of them. I don't want to scare you but please make sure that you go to the CPSC website to compare your vintage crib with what their current safety guidelines are for cribs. Things have changed so much since we were babies in terms of safety requirements for baby products. I believe that corner spindles are not considered safe anymore due to the possible choking hazard if the baby was to get an article of clothing hung up on it. Also, finishes of vintage cribs must be checked for lead paint and the slats of the crib must not be further apart than a certain distance so the baby cannot slip his/her head through. I am on the CPSC's free alert email list that lets me know of any recalls on baby/children's products that I really encourage any mother to sign up for.

Just a concerned (older) mama trying to look out for the new mommies... :)

God bless you and your new family!

Kim

Lauren--After talking with my hubby (who I should have checked with first ;)), I want to correct my statement about the slat distance for the crib safety requirements.

The slats should be the required distance also so that the baby's BODY cannot slip through, while the baby's head remains stuck inside. He said that it used to be considered safe if just the head couldn't fit through but that didn't address the danger of the baby's body slipping through, also.

Here is the link to the CPSC's press release on used crib safety:

Lauren, you look incredibly beautiful! I can't wait to 'meet' your little angel when she gets here. I love how you have decorated her room and all the little things you have ready for her. Your pregnancy seems to have gone quickly (from the spectator viewpoint) and it's amazing you are almost there! :D
